#13 Portraits

In portraits, we were told to submit three portraits.

The series of portraits that I have taken consist of three pictures, while each of them depict a different meaning. The name of the series is “Society’s Constraints” and what a woman goes through in her daily life.

The first picture shows a woman who’s face is red with anger because of the things that she is being called every day. It shows how deeply affected the women of today are. The things that have been written on her body are the same that have left a mark on her confidence showing gloom in her eyes. Things that have been written on her body reek social dilemma, body shaming, racism, a derogatory mentality & a one track mind thinking of how a woman only belongs in the kitchen.

The second picture shows the same woman with pastel colours on her face showcasing the fact that she has a lot of thoughts and words in her brain that she wants to come out and give voice to. The hand that is covering her face which manifests how a woman is suppressed in the 21st century.

The third picture depicts self love and how that is the only way she is getting love. She is painting her own heart, which indicates how self love is the best form of love, the love that has no boundaries and can be given whenever the person wants to feel loved. It also suggests acceptance truly starts from within oneself before seeking it from other sources.
